GHK-Cu is glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to copper, a tiny tripeptide present in human plasma (discovered 1973) whose levels decline with age. Unlike BPC-157 and TB-500, it is a long-established cosmetic ingredient with a comparatively well-characterized topical safety profile.
How it works
It shuttles copper into cells, where it drives repair enzymes. Functionally it stimulates collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis while helping remodel that matrix, up-regulates growth factors (VEGF, bFGF), recruits repair cells to wounds, boosts antioxidant defenses, and dampens the inflammation that drives scarring.
What the evidence shows
GHK-Cu has the deepest research base here — decades of in-vitro, animal, and human (largely dermatological) studies showing improved wound healing and skin regeneration. The honest gap for this audience: most rigorous human data concern skin and wounds, not tendon/ligament/muscle recovery via injection. Systemic athletic-recovery use is extrapolated from mechanism, not proven in athletes.
